To TerraNEON στη Νορβηγία

North. Far away, distant, cold north of our planet…seemed like a place that belongs to some other unknown, still undiscovered planet. Nights with no night, nights in white. Only midnight sun very often hidden, obscured by clouds.

We were , as a greek group, supposed to participate in “Nature and Energy” summer camp, all together with groups of youth from Serbia, Poland, Russia and Norway. Camp was situated at the same place where 60 years ago lives were taken. The very same place where we were expected to ask ourselves how to preserve life of the people to come to this planet.
We were out of surprise when we found out that huge amount of energy that we use in our states comes from fossil resources . But there was defeating fact we all agreed upon: there are some other sources of energy and we’re almost out of usage it. Throughout of next several days we started to think how to provide answer to this issue.

Therefore we had workshops. Organizers of the camp, Narvik peace foundation, from the same town in Norway, organized several really important but interesting events. Visit to HIN, technical university in Narvik, having presentation upon possibility to storage energy, or paying us a visit representatives from various local companies dealing with wind, solar energy, or producing energy from garbage. Recycling is a question of all the questions of producing energy from garbage. Do we recycle? Why not?

And, yes, we played. A lot. We had so much fun playing games of getting to know each other, our really different cultures, finding number of similarities among ourselves. We played with Lego cards that works on solar energy, on water energy, on wind energy,….we went on riding canoes on a beautiful lake that creates river,….the same river from which we drunk water, coldest and cleanest ever. We conducted “Operation Rombaksboten”, based on hiking and camping in picturesque valley that meets long, steep and narrow fjord. This activities took us to develop certain state of mind: if we’re getting so much from the nature, let’s try to be at least aware of it!
Our next step, further consideration of our activities is nature preservation. Or, we’re already there?
Hmmm…hardly!

Weekend in Rakopotamos, Register NOW!

Make some noise team are planning a camping in Rakopotamos (Ρακοποταμος).

Some of you already know about this, but we will be boring and repeat this because we really want you to come:-)

Location: Rakopotamos

Date: Saturday the 16th of August – Sunday the 17th of August.(It’s a weekend so you don’t have any excuse to not come).

How to get there: we have two options.

Option 1: Bus from Larisa to Agikambos (9€ round trip) and to walk 6km to the camping or to take a taxi.Option

2: Rent a bus that will take us from Larisa and all the way to the camping and back. We can only use this option if we are 30 persons or more. The price per person will be around 10-15 €.

It will be great if you can come to Larisa in Friday the 15th, because we will leave early on Saturday. In Larisa we accommodate you and we will have a Larisa party.

Το Φεστιβάλ 48HFP έρχεται για πρώτη φορά στην Αθήνα στις 31 Οκτωβρίου 2008. Κινηματογραφιστές και δημιουργοί από όλη την Ελλάδα θα διαγωνιστούν για να δουν ποιος μπορεί να γυρίσει την καλύτερη ταινία μικρού μήκους σε μόνο 48 ώρες. Η νικητήρια ταινία θα συναγωνιστεί ταινίες από όλο τον κόσμο για τον τίτλο «Καλύτερη ταινία 48 hour film του 2008».

The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours.
On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. Then it will show at a local theater, usually in the next week.
In 2007, some 30,000 filmmakers made films in 55 cities around the world. This year, we're even bigger, with filmmakers in over 70 cities taking the challenge to make a film in just 48 hours.

H καλοκαιρινή κολεξιόν του TerraNEON είναι εδώ!

Πριν από λίγες μέρες παραλάβαμε τα καλοκαιρινά μπλουζάκια TerraNEON, για όλους όσους συμμετείχαν στις δράσεις του Κέντρου για την Κινητικότητα των Νέων και των συνεργαζόμενων φορέων.
Επειδή δεν είναι δυνατόν να τα στείλουμε άμεσα σε όλους, μπορείτε να περνάτε από το TerraNEON κάθε πρωί από τις 11 ως τη 1, ή να μας στείλετε την ταχυδρομική διεύθυνση και το μέγεθος και θα σας το αποστείλουμε ταχυδρομικά.
Τα μπλουζάκια διατίθονται δωρεάν (φυσικά!), το δεύτερο όμως κοστίζει 10 ευρώ!

Lets Dance Together IV

Ας χορέψουμε όλοι μαζί για ακόμη μια φορά! Το Κέντρο για την Κινητικότητα των Νέων μαζί με το κέντρο πληροφόρησης νέων "HodinaH"(http://www.hodinah.cz/) από την Τσεχία και την ομάδα “Coenzima Q6” (http://infobox.splinder.com/ ) διοργανώνουν την τέταρτη συνάντηση νέων "Lets Dance Together"! H τέταρτη συνάντηση έρχεται σαν follow up του σχεδίου κατάρτισης "Give Action - Take Attraction" που διοργανώθηκε στη Λάρισα τον περασμένο Μάρτιο.

Η συνάντηση θα γίνει στο Casarano της Νότιας Ιταλίας από 06 ως 14 Οκτωβρίου 2008.


Η ελληνική αποστολή θα απαρτίζεται από 5 νέους 18-25 ετών, κατά προτίμηση κάτοικοι Λάρισας, και ένας αρχηγός με σχετική εμπειρία στη διεθνή συνεργασία στο τομέα της νεολαίας.
Το κόστος συμμετοχής είναι 100 ευρώ και το 30% του κόστους μετακίνησης από και προς την Ιταλία. Διαμονή, διατροφή, και έξοδα δραστηριοτήτων συγχρηματοδοτούνται από τους συνδιοργανωτές φορείς και το πρόγραμμα της Ευρωπαικής Επιτροπής "Νέα Γενιά σε Δράση" - Ανταλλαγές νέων.
Ο αρχηγός της αποστολής θα συμμετάσχει σε προπαρασκευαστική συνάντηση στην Ιταλία το Σεπτέμβριο.

The international youth exchange „Let´s dance together!" is a project about different kinds of dances and about cultures. This project combines dance, culture, communication and also the Youth Programme. All the participants will get to know their own culture and also the cultures of the other, then they will try to put near the Youth Programme to young people through dance, they will communicate with dance, cooperate, create and of course get to know each other.
The exchange will take place in Casarano, a little town near Lecce.There will be involved 30 participants for 9 days from different countries.
Some groups will have a special kind of dancing, some groups will be professionals and some people will be just dance fans. All the participants will share their kinds of dances and create their own exhibition like a whole international group. The final of the whole international youth exchange will be final show Let´s dance together! for public and for primary and secondary schools and will be presented publicly in the end. Other things connected with dancing are workshops for public and children and the Youth Programme presentation through dancing for the young people in the local community.The work we will have to do together should also contribute to maintain the tied contacts

Νεανικό καλλιτεχνικό φεστιβάλ "Δημιουργία" από τα "Παιδιά Εν Δράσει"

για να θυμόμαστε ότι κάποτε ήμασταν άνθρωποι…»

Για τέταρτη συνεχόμενη χρονιά η μη κυβερνητική οργάνωση «Παιδιά Εν Δράσει»
(περισσότερες πληροφορίες στο www.kidsinaction.gr) οργανώνει το νεανικό
καλλιτεχνικό φεστιβάλ «Δημιουργία». Για 10 ολόκληρες ημέρες 120 νέοι
ερασιτέχνες καλλιτέχνες από 20 διαφορετικές χώρες της Ευρώπης θα
συνυπάρξουν με μοναδικά τους εφόδια το πάθος για τις τέχνες και την αγάπη τους
για δημιουργία. Η φετινή καλλιτεχνική συνάντηση είναι αφιερωμένη στη
δημοκρατία και την συμμετοχή των νέων στα κοινά. Πάνω σε αυτήν την θεματική
οι 120 καλλιτέχνες, μέσα από τα καλλιτεχνικά εργαστήρια (video art, μουσική,
multimedia, θέατρο δρόμου, τσίρκο, εικαστικά, χορός, φωτογραφία) θα μιλήσουν
για τη δημοκρατία και τη συμμετοχή, όπως αυτοί τη βιώνουν στις χώρες αλλά και
όπως αυτή διαμορφώνεται πλέον σε Ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο. Το καλλιτεχνικό
εγχείρημα θα πραγματοποιηθεί σε κατασκηνωτικό χώρο κοντά στην Κάριανη
Καβάλας από 6 έως 16 Σεπτεμβρίου και έχει ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον καθώς είναι
ελάχιστες οι φορές που συνυπάρχουν τόσοι πολλοί καλλιτέχνες στον ίδιο χώρο για
10 ολόκληρες ημέρες.
Παράλληλα με τα καλλιτεχνικά εργαστήρια στο χώρο θα πραγματοποιηθούν
μουσικές συναυλίες, live performances, εκθέσεις φωτογραφίας και εικαστικών,
εκδρομές και περίπατοι, πολυπολιτισμικές βραδιές .

Νεολαία σε Δράση.

Let Me Be "On the street"

Είναι πρωτοποριακό, έξυπνο, μια φωνή διαμαρτυρίας και σίγουρα κάτι άγνωστο για τα δεδομένα της τοπικής κοινωνίας της Λάρισας.
Άγνωστο όχι ως προς το περιεχόμενο των εννοιών, αλλά επί της ουσίας των πραγμάτων και του τρόπου με τον οποίο το παρόν πρόγραμμα διαχειρίζεται το ζήτημα της ομοφυλοφιλίας. Το σχέδιο Let Me Be ξεκίνησε τον Ιανουάριο του 2008 και μέχρι σήμερα φιλοξενείται στο χώρο του Κέντρου Κινητικότητας Νέων, αποτελώντας μία ιδιαίτερα ενδιαφέρουσα και καινοτόμο δράση στο πλαίσιο του TerraNEON.
Στόχος του είναι η ευασθητοποίηση του κοινού για το θέμα της ομοφυλοφιλίας και η προσπάθεια εξάλειψης κάθε μορφής διάκρισης που υφίστανται κατά καιρούς , ομοφυλόφιλα άτομα. Η ιδέα ανήκει σε ένα Γάλλο EVS εθελοντή του Κέντρου, η οποία είχε ως αφορμή τις μεγάλες διαφορές που εντόπισε ο ίδιος ανάμεσα στη Γαλλία και την Ελλάδα σχετικά με την αντιμετώπιση των ομοφυλόφιλων και τη γενικότερη θεώρησή τους μέσα στο σύγχρονο ελληνικό πλαίσιο. Πάγια αρχή του Κέντρου είναι πώς όταν οι εθελοντές νιώθουν ότι πέφτουν θύματα ρατσισμού και διακρίσεων, θα πρέπει να απαντάνε μέσω της δουλειάς τους στο TerraNEON.
Έτσι λοιπόν γεννήθηκε το Let Me Be!
Με την υλοποίηση της δράσης, δόθηκε η ευκαιρία σε κάθε ενδιαφερόμενο αλλά και στο TerraNEON, να αποκτήσουν ένα φιλικό χώρο στήριξης και κοινό τόπο για σχετικές συζητήσεις και ανταλλαγή εμπειριών από τη Γαλλία και την Ελλάδα.
Επιπλέον για τη γνωστοποίηση του Let Me Be και τη διάδοσή του στον κόσμο της Λάρισας, το TerraNEON προσκάλεσε το κοινό σε συναντήσεις, με προβολές ταινιών με θέμα την ομοφυλοφιλία, την ομοφοβία, τον κοινωνικό στιγματισμό, το AIDS κ.α.
Οι δράσεις ωστόσο δεν περιορίζονται εκεί. Η δημιουργία ενός διαφημιστικού σποτ για το ραδιόφωνο, στο στούντιο της Δημοτικής Ραδιοφωνίας Λάρισας, συντέλεσε στη διάχυση του προγράμματος και στην ευρεία αναγνώρισή του.
Η σημασία μιας τέτοιας κίνησης , οδήγησε το Let Me Be και εκτός ορίων νομού, στο Πανόραμα Ομοφυλοφιλικών Ταινιών Θεσσαλονίκης, όπου και έγινε παρουσίαση των δράσεων του προγράμματος.
Επίσης, κατά τη διάρκεια των συναντήσεων της ομάδας, δημιουργήθηκε και σχετικό υλικό, μία ιστορία κόμικ που επιμελήθηκε η γραφίστρια Κατερίνα Ρήγου, η οποία βρίσκεται εδώ και λίγους μήνες στη Γαλλία για το εθελοντικό της πρόγραμμα. Το κόμικ τυπώθηκε, και μαζί με ένα προφυλακτικό και ένα λιπαντικό, διανέμεται ήδη στους νέους της Λάρισας.
Αν και το θέμα για πολλούς κρίνεται "απαγορευμένο", "κακό", "σοκαριστικό" ή ακόμα και "άρρωστο", το Let Me Be γνώρισε την επιτυχία κερδίζοντας το ενδιαφέρον των φίλων του TerraNEON αλλά και του ευρύτερου κοινού. Βέβαια, δεν έλειψαν και οι αντιδράσεις μα κι αυτό ως επιτυχία μπορεί να λογιστεί αφού δείχνει πως η δράση έκανε αισθητή την παρουσία της και πως η ομοφυλοφιλία παραμένει "ταμπού", ζήτημα που θα πρέπει να αποσιωπάται. Το Let Me Be, λοιπόν, έρχεται για να σπάσει αυτή τη σιωπή και να καταρρίψει αρκετούς μύθους γύρω από την ομοφυλοφιλία, να αναδείξει διαφορετικά πρόσωπα και καταστάσεις, να κάνει ορατή την ύπαρξή της και να στηρίξει την ενσωμάτωσή της.

Το TerraNEON στην Ισπανία κατά των διακρίσεων με βάση το φύλο

The last two weeks of July, four Greek participants and I went to an old modernist city called Terrassa in Spain, to participate on a youth exchange. The topic of this exchange was gender balance. You might say that this topic is old and out of date, but gender balance is still as important today as it was before.

Including people from the hosting organization, La Vibria, we were representing five countries in this youth exchange: Spain, Greece, Poland, Finland and Turkey.
Five countries with about 25 different backgrounds and points of view, especially about this topic.

Through various tasks, games and discussions, we tried to explore, develop and create solutions for what could be a gender balanced situation, environment or life.

One of the activities was to use toy catalogs from all the countries represented, divide them into “girls” and “boys” toys, and create a new gender balanced toy.

Another was to rearrange the gender roles in legends from our countries, performing the results in an improvised theatre.
Make up for both genders were created and we discussed and divided house tasks between the two sexes.

Each country had their own session about the situation of the gender balance in their countries.

During these sessions, the most heated discussions took place. In an exchange including Finland, who was the first country in Europe where women were able to vote, and Turkey, a country where some might say the western believes and eastern traditions still walk side by side. The different points of view about what gender balance were quite divided.

Everyone in this seminar claimed to have gender balance, based on different beliefs, traditions and ways of living.

I don't think we solved the issue of gender balance, but we helped each other to see different views of what gender balance is and could be, and to raise awareness about this topic.
We all had a great time, got to know a lot of interesting and good people, and learned a lot about the topic, each other and ourselves.

Ο Αύγουστος στο TerraNEON ξεκινά «με θέα στο αιγαίο»

Παρασκευή 1 Αυγούστου και το Κέντρο Κινητικότητας Νέων συνεχίζει τις προγραμματισμένες θερινές δραστηριότητες στα παράλια του νομού μας, αυτή τη φορά με τα χέρια ψηλά…!

Για όσους δεν πρόσεξαν επειδή είχαν μάτια μόνο για το δημοφιλή τραγουδιστή Μιχάλη Χατζηγιάννη, η ομάδα του TerraNEON βρισκόταν εκεί, στην παραλία του Αγιοκάμπου δίνοντας ένα σημαντικό μήνυμα σε όλους τους παρευρισκόμενους:
Βάλτο, δε σφίγγει!

Επειδή ο καλοκαιρινός εξοπλισμός δεν περιλαμβάνει μόνο αντηλιακό, μαγιώ και καλή διάθεση, το προσωπικό, εθελοντές και φίλοι του TerraNEON μοίρασαν στον κόσμο που παρακολούθησε τη συναυλία προφυλακτικά και ενημερωτικά φυλλάδια για τον ιό HIV, με στόχο την ευαισθητοποίηση του κοινού και την κατανόηση πως η υγεία είναι υπόθεση όλων μας.

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι κάθε χρόνο, πεθαίνουν από AIDS εκατοντάδες χιλιάδες άνθρωποι ανά τον κόσμο, λόγω έλλειψης ή κακής ενημέρωσης.

For some people the first of August was a day of rest with a free Xατζιγιανι concert in Ajokabos.But,for the TerraNeon crew,that day was something more!
In a middle of several hundred people ready for Xατζιγιανι to start, we found a perfect place for us with 500 condoms, brochures and a poster -βαλ το! (δεν σφιγγει)-.

In that moment our mission strike root! Waiting for favorite song, someone become a reader of our brochures about AIDS and someone kept only condoms (conclusion : they don't like to read). But, we motivate everyone who came into contact with us to think about health and safe love!Because we were quick and effectual,we had a time to drink a toast in Greek way with -Γιαμας για σιμερα- and in that moment we become one wιth the public of pop singer.
We will not say who (don't cry), but someone from TerraNeon group was singing all day after ολα τιποτα μαζισου! :)
